The meeting held in. the Methodist
church on Saturday lasl, for the pur
pose of organizing a County Sunday
School Convention, was largely at
tended by both clergymen and layman.
A c nnmittee, consisting of the Key.
E. G. Price, the Rev. C. G. Bradford,
the Rev. D. E, Jordan, the.Rev. John
T. Chalmers and Mr. J. E. McDonald,
was appointed to frame, a constitution
for the organization. The re'ptiit of
this committee, together with a full
synopsis of the proceedings on Satur
day, will appear'll our next issue.

circulars are addressed also to the rela
tives or representatives of general
officers who died during or since the
war. There were in the Confederate
service from South Carolina four
major-generals, three lientcnant-gen-
ferals and twenty four brigadieivgen-
erals, besides two major-generals and
seven brigadier-generals natives of
South Carolina, bat residents of other
fetatos at the time of tfieir appointment
and appointed from them.

Debating Society on last Friday eve
