Fire in the Country.—On Thurs
day last fire was discooefed in the
cotton on the railroad platform at
Dawkins’s on ♦be Spartanburg, Union
& Columbia Railroad, and before the
flames conld be extinguished fifteen
bales of cotton wero destroyed—nine
belonging to Coi. J. T. Dawkins, and
six to Mr. F. C. Lupo. The fire
started from a match lighted and care
lessly thrown on the platform by a
negro bov.
