Among the new arrivals in the vil
lage during the week were Messrs
J. G. Peak, Harry Lane, Allen Sauls,
and J. A. Jeffcoat, all of whom went
to work in the cr-rd room; Mr. Levi
Branham and Miss Boidie Kelly, who
'cRose No. 2 card room; Miss Norah
Sauls and Miss Maggie Brannon,
who went to the spinning rooms; and
Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Carraway, who re
turned to the twisting room after an
absence of ,everal months. We cor
dially welcome these new members to
our community life.

Church Notices.
The Methodist Sunday school will
be held at 3 p. m. Sunday. There will
be no preaching service Sunday night
owing to the union Christmas tree at
the Baptist church.
The Baptist Sunday school will be
held lat 10:00 a. in., Sunday. At 11
-. m. a Christmas program will be
given by the members of the Sunday
school.
Sunday afternoon a union Xmas
tree will be held. All children in the
vigge 14 years old or under are
invited, and each wil receive a pres

church.
