Weir vs. South ern Railway Co., for pecrsonal injuries the jury found 500 for the plaintil instead of the defendant as inadver tantly reported last week. In the case of James H. Coleman vs William S. Douglass, executor, th, jury returned a verdict of $47 for thi defendant.. The plaintiff set up . claim for $400 for serv~ices rendered ti his father, of whose estate the defend anit was the administrator. The de fendant set up a counter claim of $4 against the plaintiff; which amoun wvas given by the jury. The striking feature of this case was the number o negro preachers who were witnessel for the plaintiff. In the case of Robert Johnson vs Southern Railway Co. for personal in juries sustained while in the emnploy.o: the defendant company in Mississippi the jury found a verdict of $800 for thy plaintin. In the case of Mary Lee Fee an< WV. J. Fee vs. Southern Railway Co, the jury. found a verdict of $25 fo: each of the plaintiffs. This was an action for damages for running pas the station at which the plaintivG were :.o get off the train of the defendain colnpany. In the case of Mrs. Annie F. Ruf vs. Southern Railway Co. the jur; gave a verdict of $500. This was ar action for personal injuries sustaines by the plaintiff as'a result ef falling or the steps of the station at Alston which were alleged to be defective. En the case of the Winnsboro Bani vs. Rebecca Woodward, executrix, an< J. D. McCarley, the jury found a ver diet for the defendants. This was ai action to recover on a promissory note In thne casa of Frank~ Leitner v~e Southern Railway Co. the jury gave verdict of $25 for the plaintiff. Thi: was a suit for personal injuries sus tained by the p~lainltiff as a result o alleged rough handling on- the part o the conductor of th.e said defend an company.
