BUHE WEEKLY.
Choked to Death.
When the death of Mr. E. A.
Nelson was announced in our last
issue, the cause of his death was
not then known. A dispatch
published in The State the next
morning contained the informa
tion that he was choked to death
while eating a piece of iare beef
steak. Those sitting about him
noticed that he was choking and
a physician was summoned, but
he arrived too lato. Mr. Nelson's
remains were brought to Winns
boro Wednesday night and in
terred in the Presbyterian ceme
tery Thursday morning. The
funeral exetcises were conducted
by Rev. C. E. McDonal, assisted
by Rev. J. L. Freeman.
The following relatives of the
deceased were at the funeral: Mr.
and Mrs. Chas. Newnhkam, Mrs.
Caroline Miller and Mrs. J. S.

A a little trip to Blackstock
last week our attention was called
to what this educational center
is doing for the education of its

upils as presented below is not
quite as large as that of last year,
it is hardly probable that any
community of the same size can
make so creditable. a showing.
