There were no final examinations this year on account of a resolution of the bo.rd of trustees continuing the same. -Mr. Ernest Ellison and Miss Carrie Elliott went down to Co lumbia Wednesday to be present at the German given by the students of the South Carolina College. -Miss Marie Carroll of the Presbyterian College for Women is spending a few days with her 1friend Miss Janie Flenniken be fore returning to her home in York county. -Mrs. M. L. Connor has re turned home after an extended visit to her son in Birmingham, Ala. She also visited her broth er's family in Charlotte on her return tixip home. -Miss Pauline White, who has . been visiting Miss Rachel and Miss Louise McMaster left yesterday afternoon for Black stock, w-here she will visit Miss A gnes Douglass. -Miss Rachel McMaster has returned from her school at New berry where she has been teach ing for several years. She has been elected to her same position for another year. -Mr. J. Perrin Quarles leaves this afternoon for his home in IAbbeville. His successful year's work in Mount Zion has received its commendation in his re-elec tion for another year. -Messrs. C. H. Neil, A. B. Connor, Henry Gooding, T. R. Ellison, E. P. Davis and (2. F. Wednesday afternoon, at the Vinnsboro hotel, Mr. 0. C. Jones ud Miss Maud Eggleston were uietly married by Rev. J. L. 'reeman in the presence of two -itnesses. Mr. Jones has been 11 town for several weeks in the mIploy of the Southern Feather leansing Co. Miss Eggleston ame here several weeks ago for he purpose of getting up a music lass. There was to be a meeting of ;hose interested Thursd P.y evening ,or the purpose of getting things n readiness for the Old Maids' onve;ition that is to be held next fuesday evening. Miss McGhee, wa) is to direct this meeting of he old maids, is an experienced Iand in this line of work and her enertainments have in all in stances been largely attended.
