As soon as the jury fl lcd in and had taken their Beats, Judge .Mooro warned the audience against any de- ' monstration. Mr. Jas. N. Poarman, clerk of court, then called tho roll or tho Jury and J. E. Garvin, fore man. stated tout a verdict had been reached. When tho verdict was read, Mr. ' Jones iecolved it with a smile. Coun- , ?el and friends seated nearby ox- . tended congratulations, and court j asked. Mr. Jones' council to prepare the discharge order. After this was dono and the order was signed. Mr. Jones walked o;it of the court room. | Everything .passed off quietly in tho court room and there was no demon stration . This was followed by a very urgont appeal for the life of his ' client. Mr. Watkins was followed by Gen..' M. L. Bonham for tho defense. Ho made n very strong appeal for the lifo of Mr. Jones and very vividly depicted how a happy homo, 'iad been 1 broken np. His speech was rather touching at (times and no ono could bav? heard lt without' being affected to some extent. . " | } Mr. K. P. Smith, solicitor, closed the case for tho state.
