Haskell Davis, a negro boy about

However, this was not the first
time that Davis had been ou the coun
ty gang. Once before ho served :<
term of a few months and after fin
ishing his sentence ?';o stopped right

a pair of Shoes but ran off to Green
ville before he could bo arrested.
Arriving In Greenville he could not
resist the desire of obtaining some
pretty articles of clothing which ho
?ad seen, and as the result he got a
sentence of six months lu that coun
ty.
After serving his sentence he WUB
brought back to Anderson and given
20 dayB for stealing the shoes. Nov/
he is in mlBchlef again and will prob
ablly be apprehended within a few
days. Ile had been placed in Jail for
stoaling paint brushes from Mr. W.
L. Brl?sny.
Capt. McConnell said yesterday

Stock company's "feature" play, and

ment claimed for it. "Tho White Sla

est play over offered here by any

bandied it cleverly, as did Miss
Emolse. Mr. Beaubion as Captain
Louis, gave a finished performance, [
and was ably assisted by the Messrs.
Murray, Summers and Foster. Mr.
Pollock as Monsieur Montjole, a re
formed rc gue, gave a performance
that for ease and general delivery has j

time. Ho is a thorough artist in tho
part and als striking appearance only
adds further to his ulways attractive
performance. Tho speciality by
Summers and Emolse registered big,

Grapowine's greut success, "Thc
Awakening of Mr. Plpp," a screaplTng
comedy in three fine acts. This will
