the hospital having had tils hand sev
ered from Iiis arm by an axe In the
hands of Ellas Regular, another ne

It seems that the negroes there are
each given an axe with which to cut
down trees and prepare tho logs for
the saw mill, and' that they are. sup
posed to keep tho axe and take cure
of it. It is -stated that Regular had
McGcc's axe and when tho latter
tried to tako it, a scuffle and light
followed In which the former's hand
Was cut squarely off.
Messrs. Jim and T. 'Bailey, over
seers, seeing the dirtlculty, ran up,
and one of them grabbed tho negro's
army to prevent further loss of blood
McQee seeing a .dutol In Mr. lia I ley's
