theatre this week thul is absolutely
clean' from start to finish. More
over, it is a show witli something
to It; that is to say, there is a dis
play of real talent In singing, danc
ing and acting and fun making. Man
uger Plnkston is to be congratulated
for bringing to Anderson an attrac
tion that is totally tree from anything
that ls offensive to thc mo3t refined
sensibilities. There are a lot of folks
who will be inclined to take this'
with a grain of salt-no, a handful
and a lot who will think it is a
Htraightout prevarication. But if
they will attend a performance like
that of afternoon and come away and
say that what has been said is un
true, we will eat tho pepper in which
this is printed.
The company is known as Eddie
Baldwin's Maxim Girl sand consists
of 10 people. It is. a fact that at
yesterday's show tho chorus girls
came o nthe stage only ono time with
their dresses cul above thc shoctops.
And the one tiuiejthey appeared other
than with long dresses on the cos
tin. - ;. were not F > .shocking as one
might think, not rj very much worse
than some of tho few gowns we see on
the streets every day insofar as thev |
reveal figures, limbs and necks am.

But the redeeming feature of the
show is the fact that there ls talent,
real talent, in lt. Thero are two
young men with tho company who
have as sweet tenor voices as have
e\lor been heard In Anderson. There
are other voices, too. - both male and
female. . There is still moro talent, a
fellow who can whistle with his Ups
as perfectly as anyone can with a
flute. Tho show Is brimful o? fun,
and wholesome fun at that. There ls
not a word, just a song, 'not a ges
ture, not a look or anything that ls
offensive or suggestive. It is really
a nigh class show, and worth twice
the price of admission.
There will be a complete change of
bill every day. Yesterday's perfor
mance was entitled "Uncle Josh Whit
comb," being tho piece In which Den
nond Tbompsou made famous years
ago. It is a rip roaring comedy,
full of hearty laugh? and ridiculous
situations. Thc .specialties through
out tho play are put on by people with
real talent, aol that ls a refreshing
experience. One of the best of tho
specialties introduced yesterday was
a burlesque on grand opera, which
prae very cleverly dono by Miss Med
ora and Mr. Grctchol. The' buck
dancing was another good feature,
this being by Mr. Freeland. "All
Night Long" was done -In splendid
fashion by Miss Lloyd and Mr. Lange.
Another pleasing number waa "Blum
Ble Um aluin. That's It," and? whistl
ing melody by Mr. loddie Baldwin. As
a matter of fact, ..pedalties are the
backbone ot the show, and they arc
ut good as any ever seen here.
The offering for this afternoon and
tonight ls "Yale." v-'ilch promises to
be one of the best attractions of the
week.
