Mr. Archie Todd siated yesterday that during the past year ho had sold G.*> Ford automobiles in Anderson county and that these G5 owners would share in the great profit shar iiiK disbursement of the company on July 31. I^ast year it was agreed hy the Ford Motor Car company that if 300,000 or more of their cars wore sold from July 31, 1914, to July 31, 1915, each purchaser would receive $.".0 each. More than 300,000 have alreday been sold. As stated abovfc 0.1 people have bought Ford cars ii. Anderson coun ty and these will receive a check on or. about July 31 for .180, making a total cf $3,250 that wl'.l be sent into this county. On Chat date the Ford company will pay out over $l.:>O0,000 the dis bursement to be participated in by over 300.000 people in the United States, lt will take over IG.OOO pos tage to send out the c.iecks to these people. As the UmP for the nnylng out of this money draws nearer, and since lt ls now n certainty, there has been a marked increase in the sales of these cars. During tho past week Mr. Todd has sold four, one to Mr. J. L. Herron of Starr, one to Dr. J. M. Hobson cf Townville, one to S. A. Mct'owan of Anderson and ono to Mr. W. A. Speer also of this city. Mr. Todd stated yesterday that he now had on hand only t vreo tourinR cars and that he expected to sell them within the next few days. He also said that he believed that tho newspaper advertising In this county had enabled him to place so many au tomobiles. The paving contractors will begin laying the asphalt binder on West Market street thia morning, beginning at Maxwell avenue and working to ward Main street. It will take about two days to lay this "hot stuff" and then within twa or three days asphalt surface will he placed on the street. Many people, will doubtless visit West Market street this morning to see the binder pat down.
