Two British Warships Sunk in the Dardanelles.
The British battleships Triumph and Majestic
were victims of Orman submarines in the Darda
nelles this week. The Triumph, a battleship of 11,
SOU tons, lunched in 1903, was sunk Wednesday, and
the Majestic, of 14,900 tons, built iu I8U5, wau sunk
Thursday.
Tlie Triumph, which cost a little less than liv?'
million dollars, was a battleship of the second class,
nhe carried four ten inch guns, fourteen seven and
.mt' half nick guim and a number of smaller guns
for attack on submarines und torpedo boats. Her
armor was made iu Germany by the Krupps. Her
speed averaged about eighteen knots.
The Majestic, the larger though older vessel car
ried four twelve Inch guns and twelve six Inch guns
with a number of smaller weapons. She cost five
million doilara. She. like the Triumph, was a sec
ond class Hhip and was three bundred and ninety
feet long. The Triumph was four hundred and
thirteen feel long. The Majestic carried 7G7 men
and Hie Triumph carried 700.

chairman of tho pulpit committee the
communication that the First Baptist
church of Anderson. S. C., laut
Sunday formally tendered to me n
call to Its pastorate with terms and
conditions made a part of its records,
aud otuer agr?ments in details as un
derstood between myself and the
committee of the church. I am deeply
gratified by tho unauimlly and en
thualasm with which this call has
come to me nt the hands of the
church in conference last Sunday. By
every token God's will seems to be re
waled that the church and myself are
being led together in a' way that?
prophesies the Heavenly Father's good
pleasure and blessings.
Therefore, because I feel called ol
Cod and assured lu my consolence and
at peace in niy heart. I accept tho call.
I have resigned as pastor of the Sec
ond Baptist church of Atlanta, that I
might bc free to do ao. The church
here has not yet accepted my resigna
tion. After next Sunday, when 1 anti
cipate my resignation will be accept
ed, I wilt be able to inform you of the
exact date on which my pastorate will
begin in Anderson I have no reason
