Pursuant to an order heretofore
made in the above stated case, I will,
on the 1st day of October, 1917, (being
salesday), during legal hours of sale,
before the Courthouse door, in Union,
S. C., sell, at public auction, to the
highest bidder, the following described
lands and premises, to wit:
1. Tract No. 1. All that tract of
land lying on the North side of the
public road, leading from Union Courthouse
to Hamilton Bridge on Tiger
River, and having the following lines:
Beginning on said road at the Phillip
Langford corner, and running up said

in said road, thence with the said
road, N-14, 5.30 to another bend;
thence N-39 W, 6.87, to a red oak
stump No. 3, on the C. Gage land;
thence N, 60 E, 22.69, to a stake No. 3,
on Spencer M. Rice's land; thence S,
40 E, 24.00 to a stone; thence S,
55.00 W, 24.30 to the beginning corner;
containing fifty-four and 75-100
(54 75-100) acres, more or less, and
bounded by lands of Philip Langford,
Spencer M. Rice, C. Gage and said
public road, and being the lands contained
in the William Smith conveyance.
2. Tract No. 2. All that tract of

containing Thirty-five and 10-100 (35
10-100) acres, more or less; and
bounded by lands of C. Gage, public
road, William Smith lands and Tract
No. 1, above mentioned f and being

William Smith.
3. Tract No. 3. All that tract of
land lying on the South side of the
said public road leading1 from Union i
Courthouse to Hamilton Bridge on Tiger
River, about one mile from Union
Courthouse, containing about tone
hundred and six (100) acres, more or
less, and bounded by lands of John
Ison, Columbus Gage, Mrs. Jonas
Little and Tract No. 1, the said lands
being the same as conveyed to William
Smith from John Rodger, Trus
tee of Sallie Steen by deed bearing
date December 13, 1872; and being
lands conveyed in trust by William
Smith.
4. Tract No. 4. All that certain
tract of land containing about thirtynine

Jeffries, Surveyor; it being the balance
left of the lands originally purchased
by Mrs. Medora I). Powell of
C. R. Robinson in the year 1870 after
the sale of sundry lots therefrom by
Mrs. Medora D. Powell and L. J
Hames as Trustee of Mrs. Medora
D. Powell; the said lands being located
about one mile South of Union
Court House and North of the Powell
home and East of the Rice lands.
All of said lands being situate in
Union Township, and known as the
Powell Home Place. The said lands
will be sold, first, in separate tracts,

as a whole, the sale that realizes the
largest amount to stand.
Terms o Sale: One-third cash, balance
in two equal annual installments,
payable one and two years from date
of sale, credit portion to be secured
by the bond of the purchaser and
mortgage of the premise, the bond
bearing interest from date at seven
(7) per cent, per annum and to provide
for the payment of an attorney's
fee of ten (10) per cent, for collection
in default of payment at maturity,
purchasers to have privilege of paying
all cash. All bids on said lands
must be complied with immediately
after sale, or the lands will be re-sold
the same day, at the risk of the purchaser
failing to so comply with his
bid.
