The residence of Col. T. C Perrin, at Abbeville, was destroyed by fire on the morning of the 18th inst. It was one of the handsomest buildings in the up-country. Most of the furniture was saved, but the house was totally destroyed. The policy of insurance upon the proper ty had expired on the Wednesday preceding the fire. The expenses of the court and other denmtnds against the county will have to wait pay, ment until the machinery of the State government is in complete order.
