Miss Maggie Black, of the Yenome section, left last week for a visit - to friends at Early Branch, Gillison- vjlle and Beaufort. ✓ - Mrs. Mar<& Agard, of Vallejo, Cal., is expected here the latter part of this week to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Simms. Mrs. W. P. Brabham and sons, Walter and J. W. Brabham, motored to Atlanta last week on a visit to her son, Joe Brabham, formerly of this city. Mr. John G. Simms came down from Washington, D. C., to spend two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs C. C. Simms, before going to Orando, Fla, on the first of October, where he will be associated with the law firm of McGuire and Vorhiss. Mr. Simms has been one of the attorneys in the Prohibition Enforcement Unit for two years, where he has conducted himself commendably as an attorney, and his resignation to accept an in dependent association in the practice of his profession comes after much consideration on his part. Returns from Hospital. Mr; R. S. Dickf~returned Tiome last week froth a Columbia hospital, where he underwent a very serious opera tion some time ago. His friends will be glad to know that he is recovering rapidly tfnd hopes to be out' in a short while.
