SUPPLEMENT TO # The People * - ' C^JwCDElT, SOUTH CAXtOLJXT^, NOVEMBER S^, 1904 Mount Zlon Meet Ion. Nov. 21.? Mr. W. T. McCoy of Charlotte, N. C. spent a few days of last week with hijs par ents in this section. Mr. B. A. Watkins and sister, Miss Mary, of Clyde Darlington Co., spent Saturday night and Sunday with relatives here. Bro. W. S. Walters preached a very interesting sermou at Mt. Zion last Sunday evening. He has only one more appointment to finish the year here and we regret to lose him as his time is taken up at other places. Mr. A. P. Skinner of Wisacky was with us a few days last week. We are sorry that Reporter took the view of our commeut on the box snpper that he did, but the hit dog always hollers. We made no disparaging re marks about the young ladies or men of the Sandy Grove com munity in our letter, but on the other hand were in sympathy with thein and our expression "utterly disgusted" was bor rowed from one of the near resi dents of the church. We are aware of the fact that there are just as high toned ladies and gentlemen in the Sandy Grove section as any where and Reporter must also remember that there are other neighborhoods besides his. This is rather a large country and like myself Reporter has never had au opportunity to see much of it and consequently thinks his is the only pebble on the beach. We did not say iu our letter that anyone was drunk, and did not mention the young ladies of the Sandy Grove neighborhood or any other neighborhood, as that paragraph was intended to Cover the entire country. If Re porter's muscle is equal to his perceptive ignorance he can easily secure a job that would make Sampson, were he living green with envy. Better wait till warmer weath er sonny as there is danger of the frost biting your tender sen sibilities and then you would not be able to throw bombs at me and my "intimates." Pete. Christ muH Gambling. Notice of an editorial on the above subject is hereby given. Addrea* Sterling Kemedf Or , C'blctio or New Yo.-k Christy Uim The sinking is a feature with Christy Bros, minstrels. In this particular department it ranks with any minstrel organization traveling. Geo. Christy is the possessor of a deep bass voice, and Won several hearty recalls. The work of the chorus was ex cellent, and the sextette, closing the tirst part, made a neat musical climax. John Christy and Fred Christy were prominent features in the ol?o. The former does good work with the bones, and the latter is a monologistof more than average ability. Much* attention was centered in the work of Brothers Christy. Their act is full of life and go from start to finish. The company gave a tine performance and are sure of a big honse on their visit here Wednesday.. ? Columbia Record. See this minstrel at Camden Opera House, November 24. TAX NOTICE.
