Although th display was not as large as usua owing to the poor season, some of th specimens were the finest ever show: here and a visitor to the State Fai reported that she saw there no rose chrysantbumums, nor egg plants tl a could compare with those shown a this exhibit. * The real success of the occassio was due however, not to the tact tha -the few who had specially flue spec imens sent them but to the fact tha < -each lady sent what 6he had *hu showing her interest and furnishiui the committee with a variety of fern and flowers which they arranged art jstically in decoration. Miss Etta Pow had on exhibit apples which attract attention; they were the June Rei and were the second crop borne thi year. Pears, Japanese persimmons pomegranates were other fruits showi and among the nuts could be see native walnuts, pecans, and Japanes walnuts.
