Wo have resolved and pledged and pledged and resolved, but no it comes the time for action. Lot every man lay this matter to hii heart. We do uot believe that thera are many, if any, who havo not boea advised all along the lino of action as laid out by the hard work of our oflicori and writers tin the South. And the press of the whole country has come to our aid and done * most valuable work for us. Now brother farmers, what are wo going to do, are we going to act well our part, auii thereby prove our honesty uu sincerity of manhood in carrying out the propositions mapptd out in this groat movement to a grand success, which is to r>i 11 ni i 11 ? t .> i II hill' AHM> i ii f r> i-uc r u a V VII ill t II l? VU IIS V7U I VS IV ?* IUIV.I UOU (to inueW or more than any other class ? us call your attention to tho fact that the manufacturers, tho merchants, tho hankers and capitalists, together with tho beat experts in tho cotton business, have come to our help, and aro saying to us, if you wi'l reduce the aereago in cotton 25 percent, arid the U90 of fertilizers the same, we will stand with you in this fight to tho finish. Now the reasons for reduction aro many, some of which are :? We now havo a large surplus of cotton to carry over, and to invest our meaus in the production cf another largo crop makes it muium curiam uiuu prices win run low, and wo will not be able to repay tho bauks for their loans. On the other hand, if the May reports should show a reduction of 8,000,000 acres in cotton, than w? can start our cotton holding association at once, aud there is no taugible reason why it will not be a complete success Other reasons can be assigned why we should reduce the acre age iu cotton. The number of seres cut otT can aud should be planted in corn, peas, potatoes, oats, wheat, etc., and the crops thus made will better enable us to stand for better prices for our cotton, and. we can hold and once more force the law of supply and demand to control the market value of our products. In this connection allow us to name our executive and warehouse committees. Ex. Committee :?C. L. McIf r\_. iir i r n ^ i ur manus, ur. yv . m. i/i awiora, tv . U. Clyburn, E. I>. Lingle, R. E.
