He and his friend, Percy Ferguson, had gono into Henderson's bowling alloy and had started a game of ten pins. They both took off their coats and Hargrovo hung his on a nail. His friend, Ferguson, placing a pistol in his coat pocket attempted to hang his own coat over that of Hargrove's. Yorkville, Jan 20.?Mr James A Watson, one of tho most highly esteemed citizens of Yorkville committed suicido at 1) o'clock this morning by shooting himself i in tho head with a muzzle-loading j shotgun. After breakfast ho walked out into tho yard and a shot was heard but nothing was thought of it. An hour later ho was found dead in tho roar of his garden with the gun between his legs and a stick lying near with which ho pulled the triggsr. lie was on tho streets yesterday talking pleasantly with friends. The coroner's verdict was that he caused his own death. Mr Watson wus a gallant Confederate soldier, a lieutenant in Company A Twelfth South CaroUna regiment. Ais death leaves only ono survivor of that company hero, Mr A Cody. Mr Watson was an older and superintendent of tho Presbyterian church; devoted most of his time since tho war to teaching in the higher schools anil colleges.
