THE ADMISSION OF VIRGINIA. The following is tho bill for the a mission of Virginia which passed tl the llousc on Wednesday last by trict party vote. The-bill was pas cd as it came from the Senate: An Act to admit the Stato of Vi ginia to representation in the Co grcss of the United Slates. Whereas, The people of Virgin have framed and adopted a ConAtit tion of State Government which republican ; and whereas, the Legisl /if Vii'irinio /thuin/l nn/lnt* ao ?M1 V V* W ,a vvvl II IIVIVI Constitution, lmve ratified tlio Fou tccnth and Fifteenth Amendments i the Constitution of the United State and wherers, the performance theBO several acts in good faith was condition precedent to the represent lion of tho State in Congress; thcr fore, Bo it enacted, &c., Tliat tlie sa State of Virginia is entitled to remsentntion in tlic Congress of the Vr ted States : Provided, That before an member of the Legislature of sai State shall take or resume his seat, c any officer of said State shall ent? upon the duties of his office, he sha take and subscribe and file in tho o fico of tho Secretary of State of Yi ginia for permanent preservation. :i oath in tho form following: "J, .do solemnly swear that have never taken an oath as a men uer 01 congress or as an oilicer ot II United States, or as a Executive < Judicial officer of any State, to su] port the Constitution of the XTnit*: States, and afterward* engaged in ii suireetion or rebellion against 111 name, or given aid or comfort to tli cneniieg thereof, so help tne God."
