In response to a special message from Got. Jenkins upon the subject, the last Georgia Legislature, in Maroh, authorised the Governor to borrow $200,000 for the purpose of purchasing corn for the indigent widows and orphans of deceased soldiers, and for disabled soldiers, and infirm white pcrsous unable to support themselves.
