Page 2 Employees Personnel from Clinton's four weaving plants participated in a comprehensive Scott Air Pak training program. Tom Durgin, a sales representative for Safety Equipment Company, demonstrated the proper use of the life-saving emergency equipment. "Clinton Mills has long had a reputation of providing the best equipment available," stated Durgin. "The equipment is available, but we must know how to use it," he added. "Every person designated as a Scott Air Pak user on the fire fighting team should take necessary time to practice with the equipment so that if a fire breaks out, employees will be familiar enough to put the device on in 30 seconds or less." UrUMIIg cai?l I 11(3111111^ 5CMIUI1, llic MglllCID learned the various techniques in operating the "air pak" valves, replacement of the tanks, and proper checks for safe operations. Employees were shown how to communicate with fellow fire fighters while wearing the face mask, the necessity of using a safety line to find the way from a smoke-filled room, and the feel of the equipment while crawling on the floor. The company has numerous Scott Air Paks located at designated areas throughout the plants. They are checked regularly for operational readiness and frequently to meet the latest safety standards.
