A little child of Mkchisel Strauss, of Vernon, Conn., was recently in great pain from a burn on the hand, and as cold applications only increased the inflammation, Mr. Strauss came to Mr. James N. If we all had to pay cash we would learn! to live within our means. It would save business men the ex pense of bookkeepers and the loss, of ba~d debts all of which somie one has to pay for. A Correspondent challenged if yesterday's paper a statement ii the Observer of Monday that tbE revised version of the Bible "ih never heard of any more" and asks for the authority for it. I was not supposed that the lang uage wuuld be taken literally or the supposed fact was of uni versal application. This is true however, and this is all that was meant; that tL, expeotatin that the new version would have gen eral adoption has been disap pointed; and this: that we havo not seen a printed reference to it in years nor heard a verbal re ference to it in still more years. If it is in use in anj~ pulpit o r congregation, to the exclusion of the St. James version, we a r e ignorant of the fact. It has not wrought-the displacement of the St. James Bible, and this was all that was intendid to be sai. Charlotte Observer, There is a story of two men who had a controversy over the 'Lord's prayer, A made a b e t agais~tB'sability to repeat that sacred composition. B started out, "Now, I Lay Me Down to Sleep,"~ and A at once caved in saying, "here take the money, I had no idea you could say it. We have heard of the King James version of the Bible; but the version ac cording to "St. James" is a new one on us.-Yorkville Enqjuirer. The Breath of Life. it's a significant fact that the strongest animal of its size, the gorilla, also has the largest lungs. Powerful ]ungs means powerful creatures. How to keep the breathing organs right should be man's chiefest study. Like thous ands of others, Mrs. Ora A. Stephens, of Port Williams, 0., has learned how to do this. She writes: "Three bottles of Dr. King's New Discovery stopped my cough of two years and cured me of what my friends thought consumption. 0, it's grand for throat aga Igng troubles."
